Potterville, West Springfield Massachusetts
Scouts

We have a program specifically tailored to the junior-girl-scout-patch requirements. It includes the use of the pottery wheel, tile making, pinch pots and an interactive lecture about the use, storage, firing and recycling of clay. The troop meets twice once for the lecture and activities and once to paint their pieces. Troop leaders are responsible to pick up the troop’s pottery within 6 months. The program costs $18.00 per child.

We have also worked with the cadet-level girl scouts, providing the same three activities as above. The lecture is revised to match the patch requirements at that level. We always try to keep it interactive and limited to 30 minutes or so.

We are willing to revise our program to meet the needs of any scouting troop. The troop leader needs to send a copy of the requirements for the patch the scouts are working toward, and we will provide as much of it as we can right here at Potterville.

We have also worked with 4-H groups, providing a similar program.
